SUMMARY:Third Annual Farmers Guild Raising
DESCRIPTION:Sonoma County North supports this event and will have an information table.  Tickets available to all events at http://www.farmersguild.org/3rd-annual-farmers-guild-raising-2016.html. \nOn February 20\, agrarian communities from across California converge in Sonoma County to re-envision our food system at The Farmers Guild’s 3rd Annual Farmers Guild Raising. We call upon you\, farmers and good food advocates alike\, to come forge local solutions to our agricultural and food system challenges all while celebrating the newest generation of food and farms.  All eight Farmers Guilds—from the Mendocino Coast down to San Luis Obisbo—unite for one day to engage on vital issues such as carbon farming\, land access and agricultural policy\, exploring opportunities like growers’ cooperatives and innovative  markets for organic produce. Return home with new connections\, tools and inspiration to enhance your farm and empower your community. \nFollowed by The Agrarian Lover’s Ball \n  \n  \nFollowed by UP UP FILM FESTIVAL: Sunday February 21 (at the Sebastopol Grange)

SUMMARY:2015 Farm Series: Singing Frogs Farm Tour and Lunch
DESCRIPTION:Join Farmer Paul for a 90-minute tour of Singing Frogs Farm\, followed by lunch.\nSinging Frogs Farm is the one you’ve been reading about in many local media! Owned by Paul and Elizabeth Kaiser\, it is a unique\, no-till\, ecologically beneficial\, highly intensive vegetable farm in Sebastopol. Through innovative systems including no-till soil management\, the Kaisers have more than tripled the organic matter in their soil while producing over five times the state average of crops per acre. They have brought back tremendous\, healthy populations of pollinators\, beneficial insects and vertebrates (natural pest control). They say\, “Not only do we use less water to produce our vegetables because of our soil organic matter\, we also use NO sprays of any kind\, not even organic sprays\, and our awesome crew of year-round employees (not seasonal) have job security.” The Farm has won the National Farmer Rancher Award for Pollinator Conservation (2010) and the 2013 Leadership in Sustainability Award\, Sonoma County. \n$25 members\, $35 nonmembers. \nAfter the tour we’ll have our lunch at shaded picnic tables. Our meal will be prepared and served by Sonoma County North leaders\, and will include panzanella\, green salad\, cheeses\, breads\, fruits\, and wine. Please bring your own place setting and glass. \nSIGN UP NOW at slowfoodsonomacountynorth@gmail.com\, and send a check made out to SF Sonoma County North to Slow Food\, c/o Crapeau\, 985 Lupine Court\, Healdsburg 95448. \nDirections\nSinging Frogs Farm is located in the valley bottom of the confluence of the Atascadero and Jonive Creeks\, immediately northwest of Ragle Park in Sebastopol. Our address is 1301 Ferguson Road\, near the intersection with Mill Station Road. We are the last house at the end of the neighborhood private drive (please drive slowly) and then down a steep hill onto our farm!\nFarm Phone: (707) 829-1389
