Tastes & Tales of Terra Madre

April 12, 2015 @ 3:00 pm

Join us for our bi-annual Tastes & Tales of Terra Madre to celebrate Slow Food around the world!

Sit-down dinner under the oaks in Dry Creek Valley

Healdsburg Chef Louis Maldonado and family farmer Yael Bernier represented Sonoma County North at Terra Madre 2014 in Italy. There, delegates from more than 100 countries gathered to share the very best of what their country’s food systems have to offer.

Our sit-down, al fresco three-course dinner is planned and prepared by Louis, Yael, and Sonoma County North leaders, and features food and wine from local producers. The evening will be accompanied by live music.

Tastes & Tales is an opportunity for our members and their friends to hear about the latest international Slow Food issues and initiatives. Louis, Yael and other California delegates will regale us with stories from Italy and share their thoughts for adopting new ideas in Sonoma County.

This evening will raise funds to send delegates to Terra Madre 2016, and to support our chapter’s projects (School Gardens, Beginning Farmers, the Ark of Taste, Slow Harvest Gleaning, and AMIDI/Women Who Farm and Weave).

There will be a silent auction for a “100-Mile Dinner” prepared by Sonoma County North leaders and served in the winner’s home.
