Flavor Exploration: Tasting of Bernier Garlic
October 9, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
$40Please join us for a garlic tasting with renowned grower Yale Bernier, and raise funds to support local farmers and ranchers!
Bernier Home Farm, Geyserville
This event is a fundraiser for Sonoma County North’s Local Farmer Project, which awards grants to farmers and ranchers working in Sonoma County. The project team is Yael Bernier, Rebecca Bozelli, and Kelly Osman.
Yael will give us information about the cultivation and harvesting of garlic and describe the differences among the garlic types that she grows (some of which are on the Slow Food Ark of Taste).
We will taste 3 types of raw and roasted garlic with crostini, compare the flavors, and discuss which ones pair best with various foods. The tasting will be accompanied by your choice of beer or wine.
Following the tasting we will have vichyssoise made with Bodega Red potatoes and Bernier garlic.
We will also have a raffle for four wonderful surprises! Bring your dollars for tickets!
Tickets
$40 for Slow Food members, and $50 for non-members.
