Tortilla-Making and Lunch With the Diaz Sisters

Diaz Sisters-1

Saturday, March 9, 10:00 am
26607 River Road, Cloverdale
Instruction and practice, followed by lunch

Join the Diaz Sisters and learn to make flour tortillas. Margie Diaz Bourdon and Eliza Diaz Thompson will lead us in a morning session on the process, sprinkled with stories and fun. Learn to make the dough, roll with the pipa and grill up light, delicious tortillas. You will never want to buy store-bought again!

Hands-on, we will work together to make the dough and get a feel for rolling out the tortillas.

After our work is done, we will sit down to lunch, enjoying a meal with our warm tortillas.

The word “tortilla” originally comes from the Spanish word torta, which means “round cake.” When Spanish explorers discovered an unleavened flatbread made by the Aztecs, they called it tortilla (little torta).
